I don't know what God is smoking (he wouldn't tell me) but he's definitely on something. Cause it's like 60 degrees outside. I just went to badminton PE in my exercise shorts and a t-shirt and wasn't even a tiny bit cold. It's normally snowing by now God...get a move on it.
In other news, badminton PE is even more of a joke this time than the last time I did it. Today...the coach started a doubles tournament and since there were odd number of students, she had me play by myself. So I'm playing against two people using the doubles lines and they still can't score on me at all...even when I ease up and just do clears for a while. It would in fact make it more difficult for me if I had a bad player on my team...but I think the coach was too scared to join the tournament and even things out.

RStevens tackles the issues. The issues being bigoted people like vegans. Each time vegans eat, they participate in the genocide of millions of photons.

Thanksgiving Day:
0800-1200. Chinatown bus BOS -> NYC.
1200-1800. Bummed around Chinatown, saw Ground Zero/WTC, and walked by Stuyvasant HS with Kelvin.
1800+ LIRR out to Sean's house to eat dinner with a bunch of his friends and family. Became really really full...then ate some ham that they forgot to take out of the oven, then watched TV.
Black Friday:
1000-1300?. Woke up...ate some ham and egg sammiches that Sean's bro made. Watched some TV...
1300-1500. LIRR back to Manhattan. Met up with Sean's GF Lila and went up to her parent's apartment. Had some excellent pumpkin pie. Had a interesting and intellectual discussion with her parents who suggested some places to visit.
1500-1900?. Went around Manhattan...hazy on most locations. Took a train from Lila's place. Briefly saw Central Park. Walked down 5th Ave. I think. Too many damn people. Eventually made way to Times Square but only stayed for a bit cause it was crowded. Grabbed a hot dog to tide ourselves over to K-town...then grabbed some Korean snacks to eat while on the subway to Silver Spurs to eat some huge burgers.
1900-2100. Watched Jesus is Magic which was awesome and hilarious. And also breaks my streak of not watching anything in theaters for like...year and a half plus or so.
2100-2300?. Bummed around in some comic shop for a while. Then went to a karaoke bar for a bit where everyone singing was strangely amazing...so we kind of slinked away. Maybe some other stuff happened...
2300-0030?. Back to Lila's place...where we talked with her parents some more...and I was so tired that I passed out...(yeah, it was kind of weird).
0030+ Went to Penn Station to catch the LIRR back to Sean's place. Ate some giant slices of NY pizza and people watched until our train boarded. Watched part of National Treasure and then Shaun of the Dead.
Saturday:
1000-1500. Went with Sean's family to visit his great-aunt. Had lunch at a nice little Chinese place down the streate from her apartment. Kind of waited around while they did some random errands.
1500-1900. Met up with Kelvin in Chinatown. Had some CANNOLI! at a cafe in Little Italy. Also tried a slice of Vesuvius cake...which was really damn good. Walked around SoHo and visited a bunch of shops including the Apple Store @ SoHo. Finished off with some really good "Mexican" corn on the cob at a Cuban place that Kelvin likes.
1900-2330. Chinatown bus NYC -> BOS.
And that's mostly what happened in my first trip to NYC.

Happy Thanksgiving, All!
Eat a bunch and feel happy. That's what it's all about. I can't believe I used to watch the OC.

After my interview today, I donated blood. That seems like something that would really seal the deal on getting in right?

I was taking a break from studying and playing Minesweeper. Then suddenly, out of nowhere, I finish a game and the new high score dialog pops up. Haven't seen one of those in a long time.
85!!!!
That's 10 seconds faster than my prior expert score and beating my prior no flags expert time by 11 sec. I was pretty sure I tied my normal time playing no flags...but I couldn't find the journal entry for that. Either way, this is way way faster than I've done it before.

Yup...looks like my phone is gone for good. In addition to losing all of the phone numbers I have programmed in...I lost this "happy angel" phone trinket that my brother got me.
In other news, Tycho and Gabe over at Penny Arcade are again seeking donations for Child's Play. The charity has provided hundreds of thousands of dollars of video game equipment to children in hospitals around the US in for two years now. This year, they are going international. One of the places included is Children's Hospital in San Diego.

It's amazing how a good day can so easily become a bad day. Today started out great. I went on duty, got some lunch and had some fun and interesting calls. Then bam...I find that my cell phone fell out of my belt holster at some point. I ended up spending hours retracing the places that I've been with no luck. I'm pretty sure of all the places that I was during the two hours between when I knew I had my phone and when I discovered I didn't have it.
I've known about my holster being loose for a while now. I mean...my phone has fallen out a bunch of times resulting in corresponding dents and scratches. But I didn't want to get a new holster since my contract is up and I was probably getting a new phone soon...
So yeah, I'm pretty sure I lost it for good. I think the most disappointing thing is that I lost all the phone numbers stored in my phone. It really blows.

Kelvin is visiting MIT. He's staying in my room. Making it kind of crowded.
But it's cool. I have stuff to do and he's got other people to visit.

I just got an email with subject: "Donut Money". I dunno why, but that made me laugh.
It's just the reimbursement for when I bought breakfast for the EMTs who showed up at the drill session for MIT EMS. EMTs eating donuts. *munch munch*
